Safely arrived at my parent's house.
After nearly 10 hours in the plane and 6 hours driving from Frankfurt to Dresden I’m very glad that I finally arrived at my parent’s house around 6 in the morning.
They were already waiting for us. We had a nice welcome, but couldn’t really enjoy it because we both Caroline and me were too tired.
We went straight to bed and for some hours to regain some energy.
This is also now my last entry, since this blog is about Namibia and not Germany. I will restart writing once I’m back in Windhoek next year.
A good arrival in Frankfurt.
We, Fabian who drove us, Conroy Fabian’s girlfriend’s older brother who also went to Germany for vacation, Caroline and I left Windhoek around 9 in the morning. Everything went fine with the check in and our flight departed nearly in time around 12:50.
The flight was fantastic. We had a day flight and therefore could see a lot of Africa’s landscapes. Luckily there were not too many clouds.
The arrival in Frankfurt was also no problem. Everything went fine with our luggage and the reserved car was also already waiting in the AVIS garage.

The last day in Namibia this year...
Today I was basically busy packing the last things together that I wanted to take back to Germany. I admit it isn’t much, since I’m only leaving for 3 weeks.
Eugene was so friendly to allow me to leave the rest of my belongings in my hostel room at the Polytechnic.
In the afternoon I wrote the last eMails to my friends. As a farewell, Fabian and me decided to have a barbeque. We phoned some of our good friends Himbeni and Joe to invite them.
The evening was very nice and the steaks were fantastic!

What a relaxing Sunday!
Today I woke up at around 9. Fabian was still sleeping when I came downstairs. I ate something, checked my eMails and did some laundry.
The weather was great outside. No clouds anywhere, a nice breeze was blowing and the pool looked really inviting. I couldn’t resist anymore but to jump into it. Fabian joined later on.
Well, until noontime I was outside ether sun bathing or swimming. At the end there were also a lot of good sides that Polytechnic threw us out…

Dinner with Caroline's parents
Today morning I was already awake round 8 o’clock. And since I wanted to go as quickly to the Polytech to pick up my Notebook and do some writing I also got up.
Fabian was still asleep. I think he came back very late last night. I ate something for breakfast. In the meantime Fabian also woke up. He was still more asleep than awake, which is understandable because he told me that it was 5:30 today morning when he arrived.

Finally this hectic week ends
Today I again woke up around 9. It was very nice because of all the birds singing outside. There is a lot of green around the house.
Fabian was already up when I went downstairs after I showered. He was busy with his website. He finally plans to upload it today, which is also about time, since he is working on this site since he came.
After I ate something I worked also a bit on the computer, since I still had to finish some writing for the IRAS project. The meeting with Barbara the coordinator of the project was scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon.

Working and relaxing
Since a long time I really slept very good last night. It was very refreshing. I think I needed this. Around 9 I got up and showered. Fabian was already awake. We ate something together and then he went to town to go to Polytech. He had a meeting with Mr. Lösch a quarter to 12.
I didn’t go with him, because I found out that I can also dial into the Internet from over here. I quickly checked my eMails and then started to work on the IRAS project for the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.

Finally gone.
Caroline and I got home around 5 in the morning last night. Chez Ntemba was a blast. We really enjoyed our time there.
Therefore it is also not hard to believe that we both slept almost until 11. After we managed to more or less wake up, I started to pack some of the things that I wanted to take with me to our new home for the next few days.
By 12 we were supposed to leave the hostel.

Chased out!
What an unbelievable day! Today I was informed that I got the Webmaster position, I applied for a couple of weeks ago, but Fabian and I were also told that we have to leave the hostel by tomorrow!
The thing started by 10 when someone pushed the expected letter under my door. Eugene already told us yesterday, but now we knew it for sure. Not even within one week the Administration of the Polytechnic changed its mind and made us leave the Hostel, without even supporting us to find a new place!

The story continues...
I slept very well last night. I think slowly I’m adapting to the heat during the night and I’m getting to know better what to do in order to get a good night’s sleep.
The clock showed something around 9 when I got up. I took a nice and refreshing shower and ate something. But I wasn’t even finished with my morning things yet, when Eugene came to tell me that he wants a meeting together with Hipi, Fabian and me.

A nice Sunday.
Today was a really nice Sunday. I woke up around 10 after this party night yesterday. I slept very well, even though it was very hot in my room last night, when we came.
Polytech was really quiet this morning. Normally there is already a lot going on in the morning, even on Sundays.
I took a nice and long shower to regain some energy and to refresh. Caroline was still sleeping nicely.

What a party!
Last night was really nice. I slept very well and it’s just great to wake up next to an African Princess like Caroline!
We ate something and went to Eros to buy some things for our farewell braai we’re planning to have later on at Caroline’s sister’s house.

A lot of confusion...
I got up around 9 today. After I showered and after I brought Caroline home, I went straight to Fabian to discuss with him how we are going to handle the situation that occured yesterday evening.
We both still couldn’t believe what was going on, but before we went to Administration to ask for a meeting with Ms. Olivier, Ms. Shimbuli-Mieze, Pentia and the Rector to clarify the situation, we informed Mr. Kiekebusch the Head of the IT Department.

Letter to the Rector of the Polytechnic of Namibia.
Due to the unbelievable things that occurred yesterday and today, Fabian and I decided to directly inform the Rector of the Polytechnic of Namibia, Dr. Tjama Tjivikua.
A few minutes ago this letter was being sent by me to the Administration of the Polytechnic of Namibia.

Unbelievable...
Magrieta told Caroline and me yesterday that we are supposed to pick her up at 8:30 at her house in order to go to town to organize all the things concerning Caroline’s passport and visa, as well as her insurance.
I quickly went to the Wernhill Mall before I drove to Caroline’s house to get some money from the ATM.
And guess what? Caroline was still showering. Justin came out to tell me that. He suggested that I first go to get Magrieta and then come back to pick Caroline up. I did so, but please can somebody explain to me why girls always have to be late and therefore why do we always have to wait for them? What did we boys do wrong in former times that we are now punished like that?

What a day - actually I'm happy that its over...
I checked Caroline’s eMail yesterday before I went to bed. She is still waiting to get a confirmation from the University of Tromsø if they received her application.
They in fact wrote her that they did, but in a very impersonal eMail, which made me wonder a bit. I SMSed her to come to my room, before she’s going to UNAM to pick up some papers, so that we could discuss how she should proceed further with the application.

Motivated.
Lately it seems that I’m really getting up early. I’m just wondering why I had such problems during the Semester?
But anyways, I really had the time to get things done today. I finished most of the eMails that were still unanswered and I also could start some of the larger things concerning the SachsenWeb AG that were still waiting for attention.

A quiet day.
I got up around 7:30 today morning. Shortly after that Joe came to stop by to fetch one of his books he left at my room, because he didn’t want to walr with it trough town.
He had to sign out his Hostel Room today. Luckily Mr. Billawer just passed by, while we were still talking, so Joe could take care of that.
Ny nose was totally blocked today morning when I got up. I needed some time to breathe freely again, but at least I had no headaches…
